The very nature of business in the wood industry is never far from the subject of the environment. At Asia Green Wood, we believe that environmental care isn't a constraint on our business — it is the foundation of it.
We source exclusively from FSC® and PEFC® certified suppliers, ensuring full chain-of-custody traceability from forest to finished panel. Our supplier relationships are built on regular appraisals, strict compliance checks, and a shared commitment to responsible forest management.
As the largest sustainable plywood manufacturer in Peninsular Malaysia, we operate with the lowest possible environmental footprint — through experienced practices, minimal wood waste, active recycling, and adhesives that meet the European E1 standard.
"Every board we make begins and ends with respect for the forest."
We source exclusively from certified forest operations, ensuring every log can be traced from a responsibly managed concession to finished panel — with full chain-of-custody documentation at every step.
Our procurement team conducts structured appraisals of all supplier partners on a rolling basis. Compliance with legal, environmental and quality standards is non-negotiable and actively monitored.
Decades of operational experience have allowed us to refine our cutting, peeling and pressing processes to extract maximum yield from every log — reducing waste at the source rather than managing it downstream.
All production residues — bark, trim offcuts, sanding dust and core waste — are separated and channelled into our biomass energy programme. Nothing goes to landfill. Everything is given a second life.
We operate six Logfisher units — specialised cable-based machines that extract timber logs from the forest. By minimising ground disturbance and soil compaction, they protect the fragile forest floor and preserve the integrity of the natural ecosystem, reducing the need for heavy machinery and mitigating erosion and damage to non-target vegetation.

We have fitted as many solar panels as possible across the available factory roof area through a large-scale installation. This array currently supplies 15–25% of our total electricity needs, reducing both our carbon footprint and our energy cost at scale.

We strictly prohibit the discharge of glue-contaminated wastewater into public irrigation canals. Instead, we partner with specialised treatment facilities that use advanced filtration to extract harmful resins and formaldehyde — keeping our process clean and protecting local water sources and the community.

Our entire factory workflow is designed around efficiency and minimal impact. Dust extraction systems, low-emission adhesives meeting European E1 standards, LED lighting throughout, and smart energy monitoring ensure we operate at the frontier of sustainable manufacturing practice.
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond what is expected of us. We have invested in an advanced syngas boiler and biochar facility that produces clean electrical energy and biochar from our own wood waste.
This facility is a cornerstone of our energy strategy, supplying 70–75% of our total electricity and savings. It allows us to reduce carbon by up to 90% while creating a substantial new revenue stream — demonstrating our commitment to a circular, low-carbon economy.

Carbon reduced by up to 90% by converting wood waste into clean energy.
Our manufacturing process uses only adhesives that comply with the European E1 standard for formaldehyde emissions — one of the most stringent global benchmarks for indoor air quality and environmental safety. All glue lines are tested and certified to protect both our workers and end users.
This commitment to low-emission chemistry, combined with our CARB Phase 2 compliance for the North American market, means our panels meet or exceed the requirements of every major market we serve.
